This is the third week of the ten week Inductive Bible Study Training Class that I conducted at our church (http://www.saukchurch.com/). These videos were recorded from the first session of these classes starting back in January of 2015. In this class, we take a deeper dive into the Observation phase of the Inductive Bible Study method by going into context, historical background and language issues.
Topics Covered for Week 3:
- Training session review
- Homework review
- Summarize chapter 2
- Historical background
- Language issues
Homework Assignment for Week 3:
- Read through ALL 4 chapters of Philippians, then do your observations for chapter 3.
- Read through ALL 4 chapters of Philippians again, then do your observations for chapter 4.
- If you haven’t already done so, get your observations from all of your chapters into one list – think of it as a master list of observations for the Philippians.
NOTE: Ideally, read through the entire book of Philippians each time you go and study this week.
Resources for Week 3:
- Appendix 2: Pastor Xavier Ries’ Inductive Bible Study Method (you can get it from Calvary Chapel of Pasadena’s website): http://www.calvarychapelpasadena.com/assets/pdfs/resource_pdfs/inductive_study.pdf
